Around my house my lil girl likes to wear tutu’s. We have made Tuesday (not every tuesday mind you) TuTu Tuesday! How fun is that?! But who wants to wear the same ol’ tutu every Tuesday? We found a great easy way to make them…where else…PINTEREST! http://coffeecraftsandcupcakes.blogspot.com/2011/03/diy-tutu-tutorial.html I did not follow this directly at all, she used a different size Tulle (tutu fabric) and also tied ribbon. But I like mine and here is how we did it!
what you will need:
4 rolls of 25 yard Tulle (adjust for differen tsizes, more or less)
Elastic
needle and thread
scissors
some time

Cut your tulle double the length you want your tutu to be

I forgot to take a picture of the elastic…but get your elastic cut it to the length you will need plus one inch. Overlap the ends and sew them toegther. Then you can start tying the strips. you want to tie it in the middle of the strip of tulle, so that one strip of tulle makes 2 tutu frillies. I just make a simple every day knot. Make sure they are secure you do not want them coming off.

see, one strip…2 tutu frillies

And this is the tulle I used, they do make it in wider sizes, which will cut down on strips. but I could not find any…so I used what i had 🙂

Use whatever colors you want. I went with pink and blue for this one. I did 1 blue for every 3 pinks. Have fun with it!

It takes some time, but you will see progress after a little while. keep at it!
